Do you feel attached to masculinity but can’t really put your finger on it? You might be a demiboy and have a partial connection to it. Take our test and see for yourself.
How Does A Demiboy Test Work?
Demiboy test has no right or wrong answers. After all, there is no right or wrong when it comes to gender identity. It is a personality test and the outcome of it depends on the answers you input. There are different types of questions, true or false statements, single-choice answers, as well as scenario-based questions.
We feel like it is paramount to clarify that no person, nor a test, can tell you how to feel like. Use our test as a stepping stone to learning more about this wonderful gender identity, but don’t feel obliged to use the term if you are not comfortable with it.
What Is Demiboy?
Demiboy is a gender identity that falls under the demigender umbrella used by people who partially identify as male. Their connection to the male gender is not complete therefore they are not fully binary. Moreover, the assigned gender of a person who identifies as demiboy is irrelevant. Other terms that demiboys also use are demilad, demimale, demiguy, and demiman.
Similarly to other gender identities, demiboys have a unique flag. It consists of three colors, gray, blue, and white. The white color represents agender and nonbinary identities, the blue one showcases masculinity and the grey color shows a partial connection to it.
How Can I Know If I Am A Demiboy?
Demiboy is not a mainstream gender identity making it harder for people to learn more about it and connect with the community. Due to that we absolutely recommend taking a demiboy test as it is one of the fastest and most accurate ways of determining if this identity is right for you.
That said, regardless of the test results, or what other people tell you, only you can put your foot down and declare what you identify as. People who can’t find their footing and feel lost may benefit from speaking to a trained professional.
Demiboy And Demigirl Are Not Interchangeable
Demiboy and demigirl are a lot like tortoises and turtles. They are quite similar, and yet very different. Simply put, demiboys partially identify with the male gender, while demigirls partially identify with the female gender. If you want to know if demigirl is the right identity for you, we have a separate demigirl test.
How Demiboy Relates To Other Identities
Demigirl is not the only gender identity demiboy overlaps or is confused with. Let’s look at some of the most popular ones.
Nonbinary
Nonbinary identity is the most popular one besides male and female. According to the study Nonbinary LGBTQ Adults in the United States by Bianca D.M. Wilson, roughly 1.2 million people in the US identify as nonbinary. One of the reasons why is that nonbinary is an enormous umbrella term that covers almost all genders which go against the traditional norm. Demiboy is one of those terms. Meaning that every demiboy is nonbinary, but not every nonbinary person has to be demiboy. They may be transgender, genderfluid, or anything else.
Transgender
As we have established earlier, demiboys feel a partial connection to the male gender. Transgender goes a bit above that. These folk feel a complete connection to either the male or female gender. However, a person may identify as demiboy before being certain they are transgender.
Bigender
Bigender is a term used by people who identify with more than one gender. There are countless combinations, but most importantly, a demiboy can be bigender if they wish so. It all depends on the individual and how they feel like with the term.
